- A neighborhood can take on a completely different atmosphere at different times of the day and different days of the week. Pick several times to visit to get a comprehensive look at the area.
- Look for opportunities to chat with the neighbors when you visit the place without being intrusive. What can they tell you about the are? Do they know of any issues with particular neighbors? Are there a lot of home break-ins or car thefts?
- Whenever possible, consult local newspapers and blogs. Neighborhood newspapers can be a great resource for local information. You may be able to find local blogs with tips and advice as well.
